SketchUp is widely used by woodworkers to develop a 3D concept, and translate it into buildable parts. But can it really meet the demands of a professional cabinet shop? Yes! In this session, you will learn how Freebird Interiors use SketchUp for built-in cabinetry designs, and how it compares to far more expensive options designed for this industry. You will learn how to:
Close the gap between concept sketch and production-ready drawings.
Start designing using cutlist-ready components.
Set up a template with scenes and visibility controls for quick production of detailed views for both customer and workshop (Sketchup is a 3D communication tool!).
Export cutting diagrams, bills of materials and more, using the CabinetSense extension and Cutlist Plus.
This session builds a foundation of understanding for moving up to professional CNC nesting capability.
