3D models are amazing for designing objects that do not exist, but there are times when you want to get physical with a design and test your creation in real space. We have all seen 3d printed models, but what if you’re not sure how to get your SketchUp model ready for printing, laser cutting or even 3D papercraft? In that case it’s time to explore Professor Alex Schreyer’s approach to prepping SketchUp models for real world production techniques. In this session Alex will demonstrate the workflows of his free extensions; Scale By and Unwrap, exploring various ways to model and prepare parametric shapes for export to 3D printers, laser cutters & various other fabrication outputs.
